Les pratiques communicatives dans la diplomatie ont récemment suscité un intérêt accru dans la recherche. Malgré la prépondérance croissante d'une langue, les relations internationales, de la fin du Moyen Âge à nos jours, sont caractérisées par le multilinguisme. Comme cela entraîne souvent des problèmes de traduction, les traductions et les traducteurs jouent un rôle important de passerelle. Le présent ouvrage jette un regard transpériode et interdisciplinaire sur ces processus, du point de vue de la recherche historique, de la linguistique et de la traductologie. Une attention particulière est accordée aux acteurs et aux pratiques de la traduction, depuis le Royaume de Naples à la fin du Moyen Âge jusqu'à la Révolution française et aux Nations unies d'aujourd'hui. Communicative practices in diplomacy have recently attracted increased interest in research. Despite the increasing dominance of one language, diplomatic foreign relations from the late Middle Ages to the present are characterised by multilingualism. As this often leads to translation problems, translations and translators have an important bridging function. This volume takes a trans-epochal, interdisciplinary look at these processes from the perspectives of history, linguistics and translation studies. Particular attention is paid to the actors and practices of translation - from the late medieval Kingdom of Naples to the French Revolution and today's United Nations.
